Our Mission

• Providing a safe haven for abused and neglected children to recover from trauma and receive healing and love.
• Provide a space for children to dream of a better future then the one handed to them by circumstances
• Provide children with the chance to become part of a loving family
• Providing a support structure to advocate for the rights of the abandoned children to quality health care and education
• Provide quality education for children in Tembisa that is easily accessible to the community and affordable.

Our Challenges

• Electricity bill of R96132.38 that Ma Regina owes to government. This massive bill is outstanding because of incorrect zoning of Bula-mahlo. Bula-mahlo is still zoned as a business from the days it was only a creche. Now that it is a Non Profit Organisation (NPO) it should be rezoned to reduce electricity costs. As a business the electricity and water bills are much more expensive. (Please see separate document for this bill as of 25/05/2016). We would love help to pay off this debt or help from lawyers to write off this debt
• Solar energy to power their electricity consumption which is much more cost effective than current systems.
• Help from lawyers to rezone Bula-mahlo as land used by an NPO and not a business. This will reduce further electricity and water costs.
• Currently we only receive 6 social grants from the government out of the +- 20 children that we care for and we heavily rely on donations and Mrs. Sekgobela'spension for the daily running costs of the Orphanage. This is because Bula-mahlo Home and Day Care is only at the moment registered as a place of safety or a foster home. Our goal in the long run is to be established as an orphanage AKA a CYCC (Centre for Youth and Child Care). Long term goal is to register the organisation as a Public Benefit Organisation as well as registering it as a Section 18A Organisation.
